Kevin's Pics
A Photographic Tribute to Kevin Kopko
Kevin Kopko — Ken's brother — was a gifted storyteller, a devoted family man, and a man who found joy and humor in everyday life. He was lost on November 23, 2004 to Guillain-Barré Syndrome. This page is dedicated to his memory, celebrating the life and laughter he brought to everyone around him.
Kevin grew up in Paulsboro, New Jersey, the youngest of a large and boisterous family. He had a gift for language — reading three newspapers a day by age six, writing stories illustrated on cardboard his brother Wayne brought home from work. His stories about growing up — The Submarine, The Spelling Bee, Dolly Dibly and Me — are timeless windows into a childhood full of wonder, mischief, and love.
"I credit her with inspiring my imagination, and giving me an appreciation for the wonders this life has to offer." — Kevin Kopko, writing about his sister Donnis
The Storyteller
Kevin's stories are preserved here on Ken's Kaleidoscope. They capture the voice of a man who could make anyone laugh — and who never forgot the small, vivid details of growing up in a big family in South Jersey in the 1960s and 70s.
Family Man
Kevin was a devoted husband and father. His warmth and humor were the center of every family gathering. Those who knew him remember his laugh, his stories, and his ability to make everyone in the room feel like the most important person there.
